Vinod Kambli, former Indian cricket team batter, has been in the news for the past few months due to its health and financial conditions. However, this time, he has grabbed the headlines after his second wife Andrea Hewitt opened up about her relationship with him in the past. Hewitt revealed that she had filed for divorce back in 2023 but decided to take it back after seeing her husband's 'helpless state'.
In a recent interview, Andrea opened up about how Kambli's alcohol addiction in the past impacted their relationship. “I once thought about it (separating). But I realized that he would be helpless if I leave him," Andrea told freelance journalist Suryanshi Pandey on her podcast show.
“He is like a child, and that hurts me. It makes me feel worried. I would not even leave a friend, but he is more than that. I remember there were moments when I would just walk away. But then I would be worried: Has he eaten or not? Is he on the bed properly? Is he okay? Then I had to check on him, and I would understand that he needed me," she said.
Hewitt is Kambli's second wife and the couple got married back in 2006 in a private ceremony. Hewitt was a prominent fashion model before her marriage to Kambli. Andrea and Kambli met in the early 2000s and dated for six years before tying the knot in a private ceremony. Kambli's first wife was Noella Lewis.
Kambli retired from cricket in 2009 and has since been struggling with addiction and financial issues. Recently, Kambli's health condition left a lot of fans worried and he even had to be admitted to Akruti Hospital on December 21 for urinary infection and cramps. He was discharged from the hospital after two weeks.
